Two join AspinallVerdi
Associate director Tom Smith and principal consultant Ed Clothier will operate from the firm’s head office in Leeds, along with Liverpool, as the firm seeks further growth across the North.
Smith joins from working at Stockport Council and the town’s Mayoral Development Corporation as a development manager.
He led teams of consultants and contractors to bring forward key regeneration schemes for the council and MDC in a time when Stockport has become something of a darling of the Greater Manchester regeneration world.
Smith’s projects include Stockport 8, a £300m, 1,200-home scheme in Stockport Town Centre West where ECF is moving forward as preferred partner; achieving planning consent for Cheadle Eco Business Park; and the redevelopment of the former St Thomas’ Hospital.
He also previously worked at CBRE.
Clothier brings more than a decade of experience in feasibility, planning, viability, and pre-construction, having led a specialist regeneration development firm.
Atam Verdi, executive director of AspinallVerdi, said: “The strategic appointments of Tom and Ed bring further invaluable experience to our growing team of property regeneration professionals across our nationwide network of offices. Their insight and talent will benefit their colleagues and public and private sector clients throughout the north of England and further afield.”
Founded in 2009 by Atam Verdi and managing director Ben Aspinall, the independent provider of property regeneration consultancy to clients in the public and private sectors now has a workforce of 27 at its headquarters in Leeds and offices in Newcastle, Liverpool, Birmingham and London.
