North Yorkshire set to approve Boroughbridge homes
The proposed scheme, submitted by the housebuilder for an 11-acre greenfield site off Chapel Hill, would deliver a mix of market and affordable housing, with 52 homes – equivalent to 40% of the development – earmarked as affordable.
The site comprises a single agricultural field to the south of Chapel Hill and adjoins existing residential development to the north and west.
Vehicle access to the development would be taken from Chapel Hill.
The project team includes Boyer as planning consultant, Barratt Redrow Urban Design on the masterplan, DPL on highways, Alan Wood & Partners on drainage, Smeeden Foreman on landscape design, and SLR Consulting on ecology.
Planning officers say the affordable housing provision would make a significant contribution towards meeting local housing need, while the development would extend the existing settlement in line with the proposed masterplan.
If approved, the scheme will bring forward new homes alongside associated landscaping, drainage infrastructure, and access works on land currently in agricultural use.
