Revolution bars to close with immediate effect

Revel Collective has closed 21 venues across the country, including the Revolution bars in Sheffield, Huddersfield, and Leeds Electric Press, as well as Harrogate’s Revolución de Cuba venue.

However, parts of the business have been sold, with both the Revolution and Revolución de Cuba brands bought by Neos Hospitality Group.

Neos also operates brands such as Barbara’s Bier Haus.

FTI Consulting was appointed as administrator, and confirmed that 41 venues will be saved, including – for the time being – the Revolución de Cuba bar in Leeds.

Higher costs named by the Revel Collective include higher operating, energy, and wage costs.

Meanwhile, there is a rising trend among younger people spending less on nights out – both because of squeezed budgets, and also healthier habits.
