Drum looks to add to Holbeck regeneration

The developer’s plans for a 27-storey tower on Springwell Road would add another 391 BTR apartments to Leeds’ latest hotspot.

Whitehall Sidings, named because of the site’s adjacent position to thoroughfare Whitehall Road, was designed by Enjoy Designs.

Alongside Drum Developments, the wider project team consists of project manager Buro Four, cost consultant Gardiner & Theobald, ID Planning, civil engineer Roscoe, landscape architect Re-form, Tate Consulting, chartered surveyors Gia, Jameson Acoustics, transportation consultant Via Solutions, and wind consultants Arc Aero.

Plans are for an apartment block, part 12-storey and part 27-storey, varying between one-, two-, and three-bed flats and 7,000 sq ft of amenity space for residents.

Currently, the one-acre site is home to Evolution House, a two-storey office building and is along from the recently completed Springwell Gardens development, a 16-storey, 224 apartment block.

Phase Two of Springwell Gardens is currently in the planning stage for a 30-storey, 345 apartment tower.

Leeds City Council will consider the plans at a meeting next week, with the recommendation to defer and delegate the decision.
