Countryside submits plans for 290-home Wakefield scheme
Located on land south and east of Church Road in Altofts, the housebuilder is also looking to deliver new homes alongside access works, landscaping, public open space, and green infrastructure.
The 27-acre site is currently agricultural land, comprising a large arable field to the south of Church Road.
The proposed development area sits close to existing residential neighbourhoods including Wharfedale Drive, Eskdale Avenue, Trent Avenue, Saunters Way, Edward Street, and Pearson Street.
The scheme has been designed by JDA Architects, with the wider project team including Johnson Mowat, Envance, FPCR, and JDP Landscape.
Proposals include new areas of open space and landscaping as part of the wider masterplan. The site is relatively flat and currently includes overhead electricity infrastructure crossing the southern part of the land, with existing trees forming boundaries along the southern edge.
Countryside is also continuing discussions with third-party landowners to bring additional areas of land under its wider control, identified within the planning documents as land edged green and blue.
