Winvic completes Leeds PBSA
Located on the corner of Lisbon Street and Castle Street and part of the wider redevelopment of the former International Swimming Pool site, the 548-bed, 24-storey Threadworks development is now occupied by students.
Designed by DMWR Architects, the purpose-built student accommodation was delivered for client CASL Lisbon Street.
The development was managed jointly by DLC Europe and Colliers, with Employer’s Agent role undertaken by KS4.
The single tower block also has shared amenities such as cinema rooms, a gym, relaxation spaces, a games room, TV lounge, and a 1,600 sq ft roof terrace on the first floor.
Plans for the remainder of the plot include two build-to-rent residential towers of 33 and 22 storeys, consisting of 629 apartments, as well as a 15-storey aparthotel with 120 rooms, 22,000 sq ft of coworking space and 130,000 sq ft of office space.
The full project delivery team for the wider site also includes DLA Architecture, Re-form Landscape Architecture, Quod, CSD, Curtins, RBA, Turley, Brooks Ecological, Stroma Building Control, Jensen Hughes, Hydrock, Apex Acoustics, Windtech and AA Projects.
During the build, Winvic created 134 new jobs and supported 33 apprenticeships.
The firm also built partnerships with local charities and community groups, raising funds for Zarach, which provides beds for children affected by bed poverty, and supplying hygiene products alongside an on-site clothes bank for homelessness charity St George’s Crypt.
