Summer of investment at Meadowhall
There have been 56,000 sq ft of food and leisure deals at the Sheffield shopping centre with four new brands and four enhancing their space.
Anchor tenant, cinema operator Vue, refurbished its 48,400 sq ft cinema, including fitting recliner seats to every screen. Vue has traded from Meadowhall for 19 years.
Burger and pizza restaurant, Suburb, opened on the Upper Level of Oasis with a 2,800 sq ft space. Five Guys recommitted to its 3,200 sq ft unit on the Lower Level Oasis.
Further F&B brands Gooey, Iced, Vyve, and Rolled all invested in the centre. Dessert brand Gooey signed for a 720 sq ft unit opposite Sephora.
Pop-up, Iced, signed for a permanent lease on a 330 sq ft unit near M&S, while Aussie-style sushi company, Rolled, launched a 258 sq ft kiosk outside Space NK.
Coffee, açai and matcha concept, Vyve, took a 440 sq ft kiosk on Lower Level High Street.
M&S Café undertook a refurbishment to its 4,600 sq ft Meadowhall café.
Richard Crowther, retail leasing director at British Land, said: “High-quality F&B and leisure are central to Meadowhall’s continued success, and this quantum of investment from both new and existing operators reflects the strong, long-term confidence in the scheme. From global brands like Five Guys and Vue to independents such as Suburb and Gooey, this breadth of offer underscores Meadowhall’s regional dominance.”
Simon Tomlinson, head of operations at Vue Entertainment UK and Ireland, added: “Investing in our locations is key to delivering the best possible experience for our customers. Approaching our 20th anniversary at Meadowhall, this refurbishment marks a significant milestone and reflects the continued success we’ve achieved at the centre over the years.”
Louis Richmond, operations director at Vyve, commented: “The centre’s continued investment in its food and leisure offering, combined with its strong footfall and commitment to creating an outstanding customer experience, made it a natural choice for us. We’re excited to introduce shoppers to our range of speciality coffee, ceremonial-grade matcha, açaí bowls and smoothies, and we look forward to growing alongside Meadowhall for many years to come.”
