Persimmon wins approval in Wakefield

Former Green Belt land will make way for 103 homes in South Kirkby following consent by councillors.

Persimmon Homes will build the homes on Mayfields Way as allocated for housing development in the Wakefield Local Plan.

The site was previously designated as Green Belt but was removed from the designation through the adoption of Wakefield’s Local Plan 2036.

There will be a range of house styles from two to four bedrooms. All houses will be fitted with EV chargers and air source heat pumps.

Persimmon will make contributions towards upgrading local bus stops and enhancing public rights of way in the local area.

James Parkin, land director for Persimmon West Yorkshire, said: “This site will provide a wide mix of different house types which we believe will prove popular with local homebuyers.”

The project team includes JRP Architecture and Lichfields as planning consultant.
