Tilbury Douglas bulks up regional leadership team

Simon Butler has been appointed as managing director – regional building at the multidisciplinary contractor, heading a host of internal promotions.

Tsking up the new role this month, Birmingham-based Butler will lead the London-headquartered group’s regional building service line, ensuring continued focus on delivering the company’s five-year growth plan and maintaining strong operational performance across the regions.

Tilbury Douglas is a building, infrastructure, engineering and fit-out company, which has been particularly high-profile in fields such as education and health in recent years.

Butler has been with Tilbury Douglas since 2011, serving first as divisional director before running the central division. Prior to joining Tilbury Douglas he had spells with Miller and Clegg Construction.

To support Butler in his new role, Martin Horne, who joined from BAM at the start of 2024, has been appointed to regional managing director – building North, with responsibility for Yorkshire, the North East and the North West.

Richard Boeg has been made regional managing director – building South, while Kabir Salihi has been promoted to the role of regional director – North West.

“As we develop the business in line with our five-year plan, it is essential that we maintain absolute focus on delivering the plan and ensuring operational excellence. These appointments further strengthen our leadership team and position us well for the next phase of growth.”

Tilbury Douglas’s regional operation has locations in Birmingham, Coalville, Salford Quays, Wigan, Castleford, Sheffield and Stockton-on-Tees.
