Start on site at Mountpark Ferrybridge
The former power station has outline planning consent for up to 1.64m sq ft of industrial and logistics space and GMI Construction has now started building a 66,000 sq ft depot for Warburtons, which has signed a 20-year pre-let.
Mountpark acquired the former coal yard in December, and expects Warburton’s unit to be complete by August.
Work has also begun on Unit 1, a 40,000 sq ft grade A logistics facility, expected to be available for occupation from Q4 2026.
As for the rest of the site, infrastructure and enabling works are progressing and detailed planning consent is being drawn up for either a single 640,000 sq ft unit or a flexible three‑unit configuration ranging from 70,000 to 330,000 sq ft.
Mountpark’s joint agents on the scheme are Carter Towler, JLL and Carter Jonas and the wider project team includes Oxalis Planning, SMR Architects, Markides Associates, Ridge and Partners, SK Environmental, BWB, Marsh & Baxter, Gordons, Quartz Project Services, Mountford Pigott, and Cudd Bentley.
Located at the strategic intersection of the M62 and A1(M), Mountpark secured outline planning consent for up to 1.64 million sq ft of industrial and logistics space at the 110-acre Ferrybridge site in summer 2024.
