The first meeting of the Hull and East Yorkshire Combined Authority since the election of Mayor Luke Campbell will take place on Wednesday, focusing on economic growth for the region.

Luke Campbell won by a comfortable margin with 48,491 votes, beating Liberal Democrat runner-up Mike Ross by 10,981. 

With 23,805 votes, the Labour candidate will continue in her role for Doncaster, narrowly beating Reform option Alexander Jones who received 23,107.

Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner has set out her vision for the county’s combined authorities, assigning digital innovation to York and North Yorkshire, increasing inner-city housing density to South Yorkshire, and skills to West Yorkshire. 

The West Yorkshire Combined Authority will consider whether to fund £13m for Phase 1 of the regeneration project being developed by ECF at its meeting on Thursday.
