Hallam Land completes sale of 140-home North Yorkshire site to Vistry
The approved development in Thorpe Willoughby includes around five acres of public open space, children’s play facilities, sustainable drainage infrastructure, trim trails and circular walking routes.
The scheme will also deliver transport improvements, including new bus stops on Leeds Road and a pedestrian connection designed to improve accessibility, as well as 28 affordable homes.
Hallam Land, part of Henry Boot, entered into promotion agreements with two local landowners in February 2023 before submitting an outline planning application in May of that year.
Outline planning permission was granted in December 2025, ahead of the site’s sale to Vistry Group.
The sale forms part of Hallam Land’s land promotion programme.
Iain MacSween, managing director at Hallam Land, commented: “Alongside providing homes for future generations, the development will deliver significant investment in local services and infrastructure, helping to ensure both new and existing residents can benefit from sustainable growth.
“The sale demonstrates the continued demand for well-planned, sustainable development opportunities that can be brought forward quickly to help address housing need.
“By securing planning permission and creating a scheme that delivers benefits for both future residents and the wider community, we have helped create an opportunity that can now move forward into delivery.”
