MCR Property acquires 237-bed Sheffield student digs
The 55,000 sq ft Truro Works on Matilda Street will be the group’s second university accommodation in the city, joining the 447-bed Park Village.
Deloitte acted for MCR Property Group on legal matters, with Allsop the agent on the transaction.
Located to the south of the city centre, the grade two-listed building is close to Sheffield Hallam University and brings MCR’s student portfolio to more than 3,000 beds across the UK.
The group is looking to launch a brand uniting all its student assets by the end of this year.
Nick Lake, fund director at MCR Property Group said: “Sheffield was where I studied and so there are strong personal connections here for me.
“With Truro Works, we’re not only expanding our Sheffield portfolio but also reinforcing our ambition to grow our student accommodation offering across the UK.”
