Capital&Centric firms up Albion Square plans
Co-founder Tim Heatley said the developer intends to build between 200 and 300 rental homes at the Hull regeneration scheme, alongside amenities for residents and commercial space designed to support day-to-night activity.
Capital&Centric was confirmed as the council’s development partner last month. The city centre project will include the demolition of the former BHS building.
The listed Three Ships mural will be retained and incorporated into the future mixed-use development, which is expected to take four years to complete.
A new CGI has now been released, showing part of the proposed residential part of the scheme.
Heatley said: “It probably seems like this has happened all of a sudden but we’ve actually been looking to try and do something in Hull for a long time.
“Hull suits our strategy of investing and thinking long-term about how we can transform often overlooked, or under-invested, places. Hull definitely is on that list – it’s punching below its weight in some ways.”
Aside from residential, Heatley confirmed that they are planning for restaurants, bars, and cafés, but are veering away from retail.
Resident facilities will likely include a mini-cinema, gym, lounge area, and yoga studio, with the potential for roof terraces, public squares, and possibly some private gardens.
