Lidl heads towards £150m Gildersome completion
Main contractor TSL Projects is expected to finish the 581,000 sq ft West Yorkshire distribution centre early in 2027.
Work started on the 38-acre Morley site in August last year. With completion now a matter of months away, the grocery giant has started its recruitment drive to staff the facility.
ADA 06 Architects designed the project.
Andy Cole, regional director at Lidl GB, said: “We’re embarking on an incredible journey with our new Leeds warehouse, a milestone moment for our growth in the region. To make this a success, we need a fantastic team. I urge anyone looking to be a part of our founding team to apply now and join Team Lidl.”
Lidl’s new warehouse will sit on Loverose Way, five minutes from Junction 27 of the M621.
Once opened, the facility will significantly boost Lidl GB’s Northern distribution capacity, keeping pace with an expansion in its retail estate that shows no signs of slowing.
Lidl opened a new store in Brough in January, with plans submitted in the same month for a Halifax store. Skipton plans were lodged in 2025, as the group and rival Aldi continue to be the most active players in the supermarket sector.
