Vistry acquires Waverley site

The developer will build 149 mixed-tenure homes at Harworth’s Rotherham site.

The plot already has detailed planning consent and Vistry hopes to make 50% of the homes affordable.

Work will begin this year with completion due in 2027.

Once complete, Harworth’s Waverley development will consist of more than 3,000 homes, the Advanced Manufacturing Park, a school, 300-acres of lakes and green spaces, and a mini high street.

Andrew Poyner, managing director of Vistry West Yorkshire, said: “We’ve worked closely with Harworth Group to understand their vision for Waverley, which is one of the UK’s most ambitious brownfield regeneration projects.

“We’re delighted to be contributing to the overall vision for the site and we will be working in partnership with an affordable housing partner in due course.”
