Evans Homes tipped for Leeds approval
The city council’s newly-minted east plans panel will consider the firm’s reserved matters bid for 324 East Leeds Extension residences.
LCC’s panel meets on 25 June and will be asked to consider 324 dwellings by Evans Homes within the Whinmoor Fields, ‘Northern Quadrant’ of the East Leeds Extension – a strategic housing growth area.
Evans is working with J Wilson Farms. STEN Architecture is advising.
The application covers Phase E of development, which would be situated adjacent to the recently approved Phases 1A & 1B development and Grimes Dike. Bovis Homes is behind the phase 1A portion and Evans behind the 1B parcel.
This particular application relates to the south-eastern part of the Whinmoor Fields site, which is bounded by the A64 York Road to the south and the A6120 East Leeds Orbital Road to the east.
Evans Homes proposes 324 homes, varying between one to four bedrooms, with 15% of the homes expected to be affordable. There would be 288 houses and 36 flats, breaking down as 12 one-beds, 90 two-beds, 136 three-beds, and 86 four-beds.
The overall Whinmoor Fields site has outline consent for up to 2,000 homes, along with retail, health centre, community centre and primary school.
Overall, the ELE area is 575 acres, and should see 5,000 homes delivered. Persimmon, Redrow and Taylor Wimpey are among the volume housebuilders with stakes in the project.
