Completion for Sheffield BTR
Developer and operator Platform has worked with joint venture partner Northwood Investors to deliver the 335-home build-to-rent project on Sylvester Street.
Founded in 2016, PLATFORM_ describes itself as “the first to deliver a branded concept of institutional-quality BTR neighbourhoods across the UK”.
The Sheffield development is the firm’s seventh scheme and its first in the city, featuring one, two, and three-bedroom apartments as well as studios, arranged over three residential blocks. The first residents will be welcomed over the next few weeks.
Features include secure keyless access, an app-based building portal, remote utility control, and network-enabled gym equipment, all supported by super-fast fibre broadband.
Amenities include a residents’ lounge, games room, private dining room, gym, and three roof terraces for communal use and events. Residents also have access to a dedicated resident services team, smart parcel management, and a loyalty scheme offering discounts across a range of local and national businesses.
The scheme is EPC B rated. Under the developer’s planning agreement, works have been carried out to he nearby Porter Brook to provide a trout-friendly habitat, while planting has also been carried out.

The partners are now working on a third scheme, in Glasgow.
