The UK's City of Culture is expecting a tourism boost following the world-wide attention.

Travelodge opens third Bradford location

The company has taken over the former Campanile hotel, as part of expansion plans that will see it target 300 more hotels in the UK this year.

Travelodge operates more than 600 hotels across the UK, Ireland, and Spain and this will be its third offering in Bradford.

Located on the Euroway Industrial Estate to the south of the city, the property has 130 rooms.

As well as this hotel, the budget chain also acquired eight other Campanile venues as part of the transaction, located in Birmingham, Dartford, Leicester, Liverpool, Manchester, Northampton, Milton Keynes and Swindon.

Tony O’Brien, UK development director for Travelodge said: “We’re excited to officially open our Bradford South hotel. It’s in a great location for both leisure and business travellers and we can’t wait to welcome guests to the latest hotel in our UK estate.

“We now have around 600 Travelodge hotels throughout the UK and we’re targeting 300 more new locations this year, with 19 of these in the North West region.

“This will create even more jobs and give our diverse customer mix more choice and great value when visiting the north of England and the rest of the UK.”
