Study Group looks to expand in 8 Park Row
The organisation moved into floors three to seven of the prominent Leeds building in March, and has now applied for permission to use floors one and two as educational space as well.
Fisher German has submitted the application on behalf of Study Group, which is a for-profit education provider that prepares international students for university degree programmes and offers English language courses.
Relocating from Wellington Place, Study Group took 19,000 sq ft and a five-year lease in one of the most significant office deals in the city earlier this year.
The Leeds office of Knight Frank and national agent Fisher German advised on the deal.
Now, following its success in floors three to seven, the group is looking to expand into the lower floors with a proposal for new teaching spaces, tutorial rooms, and language support areas.
It would provide more space for the current student body, with no plans for Study Group to expand its number of pupils – and the approved capacity for the building remains at 600 people regardless, in line with the fire strategy.
All proposed changes are internal, with no external alterations suggested.
The application also noted that given the current healthy supply of office space in the city centre, this change is not considered to negatively impact overall provision.
