Sheffield blows hot and cold

Wellness company Güs is opening a Scandi-style sauna, ice bath, and café in the Heart of the City development, in a former Sunday School on 34 Cambridge Street.

Due to open this winter, the quirky offering is currently undergoing a fit-out.

The Heart of the City project has transformed the city centre, F&B, entertainment, high-quality office space, and residential apartments into Sheffield centre.

The regeneration project was constructed by Henry Boot Construction for Sheffield City Council.

Cllr Ben Miskell, chair of the transport, regeneration and climate policy committee at Sheffield City Council, said: “From the very outset we wanted to make sure our Heart of the City development was going to offer something different, something of high quality and something that would drive people into the city centre.

“Welcoming Güs to the project shows that we are achieving just that.

“This new unit will mark the first facility the company has opened and is a big vote of confidence not only for the Heart of the City project but also the city centre as a whole.

“It also shows that the Council is taking seriously the task of ensuring our heritage buildings are kept and used again as much as possible.”
