LHV Bank takes 1,700 sq ft at Wellington Place
The deal comes as Leeds continues to attract financial and professional services occupiers, strengthening the city centre’s Northern Square Mile – a key regional hub for the sector.
The FinTech bank has agreed a deal for furnished ground-floor space at 12 Wellington Place, where it will base its Leeds operation as it continues to expand.
Following the deal, 3,362 sq ft of office space remains available at 12 Wellington Place, while a further 4,000 sq ft of ground-floor office space remains available at 10 Wellington Place.
The latest letting comes as further grade A space is brought forward elsewhere on the Wellington Place estate: A comprehensive refurbishment is underway at 2 Wellington Place, which will deliver 119,000 sq ft of grade A office space.
The refurbishment is scheduled for completion in autumn 2027.
LHV Bank, which is headquartered in London and also has offices in Manchester and Tallinn, provides personal banking and savings products, business lending and banking services for financial institutions.
It joins occupiers including EY, Lloyds Banking Group, Rathbones, Evelyn Partners, and Squire Patton Boggs at Wellington Place.
Chris Sills, asset management director at Federated Hermes, the asset manager of Wellington Place, said: “LHV Bank’s decision to base its Leeds expansion at Wellington Place is a clear testament to the strength and appeal of Wellington Place as a leading business destination.
“The FinTech bank’s move builds on the strong momentum we’re seeing from financial, legal, and professional service businesses that call Wellington Place home.
“They have not only recognised the strength of Wellington Place’s offer, but also our position at the beating heart of an important business district known as Leeds’ ‘Northern Square Mile’.
“Additionally, 12 Wellington Place is regarded as one of the UK’s most sustainable office developments, reflecting the growing demand for high-quality, future-focused workspace.”
Kris Brewster, interim chief executive at LHV Bank, said: “We know the benefits being based at Wellington Place offers, from the exceptional workspace to incredible bars and restaurants, and its community-focused programme of activities.
“Wellington Place allows us to provide an excellent environment for our people, while supporting our wider growth plans for the business.”
