St Luke’s to open largest store yet
An 8,500 sq ft charity department store will open next week at Sheffield’s Kilner Way Retail Park.
The charity said that the project will tap into the trend for sustainable shopping with ‘pre-loved’ items, which it said is forecast to grow by 127% over the next two years.
The store is St Luke’s Hospice’s largest project to date, with an extra 7,000 sq ft of warehouse space that will accommodate a donations hub. The store is close to Sheffield Wednesday’s Hillsborough ground.
Jenny Booth, St Luke’s head of retail, said: “Following on from the success of our shop at The Moor, which opened last August, Kilner Way will have its own unique look and feel… meeting the rising demand for cost-conscious shopping and high-quality pre-loved goods.”
The hospice, which operates in Sheffield, supports people aged 18 and above with terminal illnesses, as well as their families and their loved ones, with medical and holistic care from the point of diagnosis and beyond.
The official opening of St Luke’s Kilner Way will take place outside the new store on Monday 30 September from 10.30am.
