Plans in for 14 Wellington Place
MEPC has submitted plans for the next phase of its grade A office development in Leeds, in the form of a 300,000 sq ft, 12-storey block.
The project team also consists of ID Planning, Arup, Gardiner & Theobald, Planit, Curtins, Hydrock, Jenson Hughes, Cundall, and TP Bennett.
The building will have commercial space on the ground floor, along with basement parking and landscaping, and 11 storeys of office space.
The 1.2-acre plot sits within the existing Wellington Place site, which was granted outline planning permission for the masterplan back in 2008, consisting of 13 buildings in total.
Since then, Nos 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 10 Wellington Place have been developed, with a revised masterplan for the remaining eight-acres of land on the estate approved in 2019.
Following that approval, 11 and 12 Wellington Place has been completed with 9 Wellington Place also consented.
Located in the West End area of Leeds City Centre between Wellington Street to the north, Northern Street to the east, Whitehall Road to the south and the River Aire to the west, the site is around 500 metres west of Leeds Train Station.
A spokesperson said: “Once complete, 14 Wellington Place will meet the highest standards of energy efficiency and offer more than 200,000 sq ft of sustainable grade A office space in Leeds.
“The new building will also look to address the high demand for premium office space in the city centre.”
