Back to school for CR Construct
The developer has lodged plans to convert the former Danum Grammar School site in Doncaster into 99 apartments and a pair of semi detached dwellings.
This would consist of converting the listed 1930s building, also previously known as the Mary Woollett Centre, into 55 flats and constructing a 2.5-storey, 44-apartment block within the four-acre site.
Max Design has been architect and planner on the scheme, with Weddles as landscape designer.
The project also includes the partial demolition of later extensions to the original school building, and the D&A statement notes that historic features will be retained, and the central courtyard to the school will be used as a communal amenity space for residents.
Located on Danum Road close to Doncaster’s main urban area, the building was sold at auction for £1.25m last year.
Earlier this year it was announced that it would be converted into a childcare facility, offices, and a sports bar.
