Sky-House submits £38m Peak District plans
Hoping to build a luxury mixed-use eco-development in the Loxley Valley, the developer has applied to Sheffield City Council for permission to build 73 homes alongside commercial and leisure space within a 70-acre woodland site.
Construction will be phased on the site, which also includes 40 acres of brownfield land.
Named Sylvalox, residential properties will range from one- to five-beds, and owners will be able to install extras such as natural swimming pools and sauna pods.
Sky-House is also the architect on the scheme, with the wider project team including PWP on landscaping and Bedwell Planning.
Following consultations with Bradfield Parish Council and the Friends of Loxley Valley, key features for the eco-village include a café/bar in the centre, a padel court, and convenience store.
Sky-House has previously delivered Olive Lane, Oughtibridge Mill, and Waverley Central in and around Sheffield and South Yorkshire.
David Cross, chief executive at Sky-House Co, said: “It’s an exciting milestone as we get planning for Sylvalox submitted to the Council.
“The area has long been an important part of Sheffield’s history, from its role in the city’s industrial heritage, to being a habitat for flora, fauna, and wildlife.
“A major aim of the development is to encourage the rewilding of the area, so not only are we bringing life to the Valley in the form of new residents, we are improving the biodiversity of the site.
“Sylvalox is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to create one of the most exciting developments in the region.
“It will be a destination where people want to live, where they can wander through the one kilometre of footpaths and reap the benefits of living among nature without sacrificing urban amenities.”
