Barratt Redrow set to add to North Yorkshire housing
Plans to deliver 180 homes in South Milford are set to be approved by the council, with 50% designated as affordable.
The outline application relates to a 16-acre site off Low Street on the southern edge of South Milford.
The land comprises three fields currently in mixed use, including agriculture, livestock grazing, and informal recreation, and is divided by Lund Sike Lane.
The proposed development would be on land identified as grey belt.
Planning officers concluded that any harm arising from development outside the defined settlement boundary would not significantly and demonstrably outweigh the benefits of delivering housing in what is considered a sustainable location.
Barratt Redrow submitted the application in September last year.
