Goole logistics site hits the market

Sterling Capitol has permission to develop a 527,000 sq ft warehouse on the 29-acre East Yorkshire plot, which is being marketed by Knight Frank and Colliers.

The reserved matters is for a single high-spec industrial and logistics unit, and sits next to established commercial occupiers Siemens, Tesco, Guardian Glass, and Croda Chemicals.

Axis 36 is located next to the M62 at Goole and the A161, which leads to the inland port, and is also close to the M18 with links through to Doncaster, Scunthorpe, and the Humber area.

Goole has welcomed significant investment in the last couple of years, such as the recently opened Siemens £200m Rail Village, in addition to which a further £40m has been pledged for the site.

Paul Beckett, chief executive of Leeds-based Sterling Capitol, said: “The Hull and East Yorkshire devolution deal will unlock £400m in investment over 30 years, driving economic growth, improving infrastructure, and creating high-quality jobs in the region”

Iain McPhail, partner in Knight Frank’s Yorkshire Industrial & Logistics team, said: “Axis 36 offers not only excellent motorway connectivity but easy access to the East Coast ports and to the close-by skilled labour pools of Goole, Howden, Doncaster and Selby.

“As the regeneration of Goole continues at pace, Axis 36 is an exciting prospect for industrial and logistics occupiers to invest and grow their business.”

Rob Whatmuff of Colliers added: “Axis 36 offers a truly oven-ready development platform upon which a large scale, institutional grade logistics facility of over 500,000 sq ft can be delivered immediately.”

The regeneration of Goole will be discussed at Place Yorkshire’s East Yorkshire Development Update this Thursday, in Hull, with a presentation from Invest East Yorkshire and a panel discussion featuring Finbarr Dowling, localisation director, Siemens Mobility; David Wells, director, HBD; Andrew Milne, lead property development manager, Humber, Associated British Ports; and Dr. Diana Taylor, managing director, Future Humber.
