Wakefield to greenlight 90 homes

Yorkshire Choice Homes’ application to demolish the Redbeck Motel in Crofton and replace it with housing is recommended for approval this week, in a scheme supported by Johnson Mowat.

The rest of the project team consists of Yorkshire Choice Homes Construction, Andrew Moseley Associates, Redmore Environmental, DRaW on landscaping, ARP Chartered Consulting, and Haycock + Todd.

Previously, the site was classed as Green Belt but sits outside the development limits of neighbouring settlements, with woodland to the west, Doncaster Road to the north, and a tree belt and railway line to the south.

The housing mix is set to be split into 63 two- to four-bed houses, and 27 two-bed affordable homes.
