Ramsdens brings in partner
Adam Waite comes to the Yorkshire law firm with 13 years’ experience in property and banking law, arriving from Tyr Law where he was head of real estate finance.
Ramsdens said that Waite’s wide-ranging expertise sees him advising both lenders and borrowers in real estate and social housing finance matters such as bridging and development finance as well as term loans.
This has included working on a £70m refinance deal involving 40 properties across Yorkshire and the Midlands occupied by a well-known coffee brand and fast-food outlet.
He also acts regularly for domestic and international lenders as well as institutional investors on development and investment finance transactions alongside loan book sales and purchases.
Based in Ramsdens’ Leeds office, Waite will develop the firm’s specialist real estate finance offering, working alongside colleagues to support existing clients and build relationships with lenders and borrowers across the region.
He said: “Ramsdens has a longstanding reputation throughout Yorkshire for its collaborative culture and commitment to providing market-leading commercial advice.
“Many of my clients are based in the region, so joining a firm with that established presence felt like a natural fit.
“There’s a real opportunity to work with highly capable colleagues and develop a dedicated real estate finance offering to complement the market-leading property expertise at the firm.”
Before joining Tyr, Waite had spells with Fieldfisher, Addleshaw Goddard, Pinsent Masons, and DLA Piper.
Kirsty Jackson, partner and head of real estate at Ramsdens, added: “Adam has a fantastic track record helping clients navigate complex finance deals and is an excellent hire for us at Ramsdens as we enhance our commercial property offering.
“His experience across property and banking law enables us to provide practical, joined-up advice to lenders and borrowers while building new relationships across the region.
“I’m pleased to welcome him to Ramsdens, and we look forward to working with him as we develop and grow our real estate department.”
Ramsdens has 11 offices across Yorkshire, with total headcount now amounting to more than 300.
