Keepmoat applies for 60 Harrogate homes
The housing provider is looking to build the homes on Beckwith Head Road, close to Cardale Business Park.
Supported by SMR Architects, Carter Jonas, and Rosetta Landscape Design, the plot is currently open grassland that has a number of mature trees and a hedgerow that have influenced the layout of the scheme.
The suggested housing mix is for 2-, 2.5-, and 3-storey houses, which in the initial design phase were all intended to be affordable.
Following discussions with the council and a viability report, the council indicated that it would recommend a maximum of 40% affordable housing across the site, with a tenure-blind approach adopted.
The five-acre site to the south west of Harrogate is made up of two former agricultural fields, and will share access via a currently unnamed road off Beckwith Head Road.
Currently, this road serves a care home located adjacent to the site.
