Invest Hull and East Yorkshire recommits to MIPIM after MHCLG links forged
East Riding of Yorkshire Council will once again form part of the North of England delegation at next year’s show following strategic talks with government that began in Cannes this year.
Representatives from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, along with consultant Urban Strategy, visited East Yorkshire in recent weeks to discuss future investment and development opportunities across Hull and the wider subregion.
Discussions focused on the resources and skills to deliver the ambitions of the Mayoral Combined Authority Spatial Development Strategy and the potential for new towns and large-scale residential developments to help meet future housing and economic growth ambitions.
The visit resulted directly from relationships established with Urban Strategy by Invest Hull and East Yorkshire representatives at MIPIM, as part of the North of England delegation, and subsequently strengthened at UKREiiF.

She was joined by representatives from East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s planning and economic growth development team and the combined authority’s newly appointed director of housing and regeneration.
The programme included visits to current development projects and potential future development sites, followed by a round-table discussion exploring the opportunities available across the region.
