East Yorkshire Council greenlights 500+ homes in Bridlington
Two planning applications from Gleeson Homes, one for 83 homes and one for a 450-house estate, were recommended for approval subject to conditions at a council meeting.
The 450-house proposal is for land west of Airedale Drive. Planning consultants Peacock & Smith and PRA Architects advised on the project.
Plans for the site consist of 15-20% one-bed, 30-35% two-bed, 30-35% three-bed, and 15-20% four-bed houses.
At the planning meeting last Thursday it was agreed that the application would be approved, subject to Gleeson ensuring on-site affordable housing and open space, and off-site contributions for outdoor sports facilities, education, and the construction of a roundabout.
As for the proposal for 83 houses on Pinfold Lane, the council once again recommended it for approval dependent on Gleeson meeting the following criteria: an increase in affordable housing on the site, open space provisions both on and off-site, and contributions towards highway infrastructure.
The plot will comprise four two-bed bungalows, 23 two-bed semi-detached houses, 21 three-bed semi-detached houses, 26 three-bed detached properties and nine four-bed detached houses, designed by Nieman Architects.
Planning application reference numbers for the 450 house and 83 house sites are 23/03348/STPLF and 23/01571/STPLF, respectively.
