Carter Towler does first deal for Mattress Online
Instructed by the Rotherham business to assist in its ‘clicks and mortar’ growth across the North, the agent has secured a 6,000 sq ft unit at Sprotborough Retail Park near Doncaster.
Carter Towler’s head of retail, Pete Bradbury said: “This really is quite a coup for us! Mattress Online is perfectly poised for growth, it has had a remarkable 12 months.
“The business has not only significantly increased its market share but has won several national, regional and trade awards. It is now expanding its operations by adding more physical stores to its highly successful e-commerce strategy. The company currently has outlets in Sheffield, Skipton and Rotherham.
“We have agreed a 10-year lease deal on a 6,000 sq ft unit at Sprotbrough Retail Park, Doncaster and we are in negotiations for another in the Yorkshire region.”
Founded 20 years ago, Mattress Online has grown from storing mattresses in a garage to become one of the UK’s top 100 fastest-growing companies with an annual turnover of £25m.

“We want to find outlets of the right size but with the flexibility to add additional floor space as required, and in the best possible locations of course. That means optimising roadside visibility and distribution links. Early indications are looking very promising indeed.”
Carter Towler, which was established 75 years ago, has offices in Leeds and York and employs 50 people. Over the past 12 months the company has been involved in 350+ commercial, industrial and investment property deals, and the firm currently manages 5,000 properties for clients nationwide.
