- RICHARD KINGSTON, THE UNIVERSITY OF MANCHESTER & NERC DIGITAL SOLUTIONS PROGRAMME | Richard MRTPI is professor of urban planning and GIS in the department of planning, property & environmental management at the University of Manchester. He is director of the University’s digital futures platform & leads the NERC funded £8m digital solutions programme which is making over 40 peta-bytes of data available to non-academics to support decision making across the UK and beyond.
- VICTORIA HUGHES-BARKER, MILLS & REEVE | Victoria is part of the knowledge team at Mills & Reeve supporting the national real estate team and wider national service lines on developments in property law. With over 10 years of practical legal experience, Victoria uses commercial understanding to apply the latest legal developments ensuring that lawyers are able to advise clients not only on what the law currently is, but what it might be in the future. - WILLIAM SWAN, ENERGY HOUSE LABS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF SALFORD |Professor Will Swan is the director of Energy House Laboratories at the University of Salford, where he has led the energy & buildings research for more than 10 years. The labs include the award-winning Salford Energy House, a whole Victorian house in a climate-controlled chamber, the Smart Meters Smart Homes Lab & the £16m Energy House 2.0 research facility, which is currently working with companies on developing demonstrators for the new Future Homes Standard. He has published a wide number of papers on retrofit & building performance & has advised on a national & regional policy level.
- ADRIAN LONSDALE, BENNETTS ASSOCIATES | Adrian leads Bennetts Associates’ Manchester studio, where he oversees a diverse portfolio spanning urban design, workplace, hotel, residential & theatre projects. With a specialization in low-carbon workplace design, Adrian focuses on adaptive reuse & regenerative materials. Notable projects include those utilizing full timber construction, earth construction, and straw-insulated panels, combining sustainability with creating beautiful spaces that are both environmentally friendly & enjoyable to work in.
- JILL GUTHRIE, WILLMOTT DIXON | Jill has over 2 decades of experience in the construction & architecture industries with a proven track record of driving digital innovation & ensuring compliance within complex projects. As the principal digital & compliance manager at Willmott Dixon, she leads initiatives that leverage digital tools to enhance project efficiency & compliance across the Northern UK region. Jill’s passion lies in bridging the gap between technology & construction, ensuring that projects not only meet but exceed industry standards.
- AMIT PURI, AUTODESK CONSTRUCTION EMEA | Amit heads up the technical solutions division at Autodesk Construction EMEA & has worked on building & infrastructure projects of varying size & complexity. His background is in property & construction and over the past several years, has worked in the tech space to drive digital transformation & acceleration for clients across AECO.
- JOSH SYKES, WSP | Josh is a technical director with a leading role on net zero carbon & sustainability. Josh has broad knowledge of energy, sustainability & low carbon design. Josh has a diverse engineering background with experience in mechanical design, building control systems, sustainable development & smart buildings. Driving innovation within the built environment is a key motivation for Josh, he supports research and innovation activities working with leading UK universities on a range of topics including predictive control, scalable IoT solutions and cyber security.
- TOM COX, SAINT-GOBAIN | Tom joined Saint-Gobain in 2007 & has worked in roles at both a brand & group level. Since 2018 Tom has worked in the Saint-Gobain Off-site Solutions division leading development & technical activity. More recently Tom joined the central UK & Ireland Saint-Gobain team as construction solutions director. Working closely with external partners in both industry & academia Tom focuses on developing solutions to meet the challenges that face the construction sector.
- NATHAN FEDDY, VECTOR HOMES | Nathan is the chief executive officer & co-founder of Vector Homes, an ambitious Manchester based company on a mission to cut carbon, cost & complexity in construction. Prior to founding Vector Homes, he worked as a nanomaterials scientist in the Graphene Engineering Innovation Centre scaling technologies for companies ranging from start ups to blue chips. He also worked as the international business developer for the Graphene Flagship, a one billion euro initiative dedicated by the EU to scaling up nanomaterial products.
