Barry Gregory dies aged 82
Harrogate-headquartered Gregory Property Group has announced that its chairman and founder has passed away after a short illness.
In a statement, the company said: “Barry is remembered for his profound commitment to the property industry to which he dedicated more than 60 years.
“Barry was also a great friend and mentor to many of his industry peers. He was highly respected for his expertise but also his sincerity, integrity and kindness.”
He died peacefully at home surrounded by his family.
In line with the wishes of its founder, after a period of mourning, Gregory Property Group continues to operate as usual under the leadership of deputy chair and group and residential director John McGhee, supported by Trevor Gurney, Philip Lees, Nick Gillott, Tracy Sormus and Anne-Marie Wisson.
Recent Gregory projects have included the £30m Refinery student living scheme in Leeds, managed by Fresh for Curlew Asset Management, and the Ossett 40 industrial development.
The group recently appointed BDB Design Build for the 33,000 sq ft Europa Way industrial scheme in Sheffield.
