MCR expands Sheffield PBSA portfolio
MCR Property Group has completed the acquisition of The Moor, a 126-bed student accommodation scheme in the city centre, strengthening its presence in one of the UK’s largest university cities.
The building was sold for an undisclosed sum, with professional advisors Deloitte and Beachrock assisting MCR.
The deal takes MCR’s Sheffield portfolio to more than 800 beds across three schemes, including Truro Works and Park Village.
The Moor comprises modern studio accommodation along with a gym, club lounge and communal areas and is within walking distance of both Sheffield Hallam University and the University of Sheffield, offering access to nearby retail, leisure and transport links.
Nick Lake, fund director at MCR Property Group, said:“Sheffield is one of the UK’s most exciting student cities and we are proud to now operate more than 800 beds across three strong schemes here.
“The Moor expands our presence and reinforces our ambition to be a leading national PBSA operator.
“Our focus remains on delivering high-quality, well-managed accommodation that reflects the needs of today’s students, and Sheffield is a huge part of that strategy.”
MCR plans to launch a new national student brand platform next quarter, unifying its PBSA assets under a single identity and supporting future portfolio growth.
