Grade A refurb for 2 Wellington Place

MEPC, the developer and asset manager for the Leeds’ office district, will upgrade 119,000 sq ft across seven floors of the building.

Originally finished in 2006, emphasis will be placed on energy efficiency with sustainability credentials EPC ‘A’ and BREEAM Refurbishment Excellent targeted.

Due to be completed by summer 2026, a new reception and business lounge area will be installed on the ground floor.

New changing facilities comprising 15 showers and 140 lockers will be added, as well as a cycle maintenance hub, and space for 152 bikes to park.

Miles Jones, development director at MEPC said: “Alongside new build developments, retrofitting plays an extremely important part in creating buildings for the future… we’re looking forward to welcoming new occupiers.”

Wellington Place is already home to Lloyds Banking Group, JLL, and GHD and has a range of cafes, restaurants, street food markets, as well as events and wellbeing activities including yoga and beekeeping.
