DT Sports completes York Racecourse renovations

Completed in less than three months, works included the refurbishment of 11 private suites at the Knavesmire Stand.

DT Sports is a division of Leeds-based Design Tonic and has also designed spaces for Leeds United at Elland Road Stadium and at the Emerald Stadium in Headingley.

Completed ahead of the first meet of the year, the six-figure refurbishment took place on the fourth floor of the Knavesmire Stand.

With views across the course and situated overlooking the final furlong, work on the suites included enhanced catering provisions and integrated large-screen technology, as well as design updates and flexible layouts.

Today, the racecourse welcomes up to 300,000 visitors and hosts 18 fixtures each summer.

Will Snaith, group sales director at Design Tonic, added: “We’re very proud to have delivered this transformation for one of the UK’s most beloved racecourses.

“Our aim has been to create interiors that feel both contemporary and timeless, setting the standard for an exceptional hospitality experience.

“Working on such an iconic venue has been a privilege for the entire team and we’re a looking forward to seeing racegoer’s reactions when the suites are fully revealed in the coming weeks.”
