Bridlington MSCP on track for October opening
Originally due to complete in spring this year, the £15.5m, 426-space car park has been a critical project within the East Yorkshire town’s regeneration strategy.
Main contractor HBC Construction has built the multi-storey car park, located between Manor Street and Hilderthorpe Road in the town centre, which will be owned and operated by East Riding of Yorkshire Council.
The new development will boost accessibility, support local businesses, and play a vital role in driving footfall and economic growth in the Yorkshire seaside town.
With 31 accessible parking bays, six EV charging bays, eight motorcycle bays, and 12 cycle spaces, the development will help to future-proof the area’s parking needs and encourage sustainable transport options, simultaneously alleviating pressure on existing town centre parking.
The building will incorporate a wave-inspired exterior that reflects its coastal setting. Carey Jones Chapman Tolcher is the architect.
Cllr Anne Handley, leader of East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said: “The opening of the new Beck Hill multi-storey car park this October is a transformative moment for Bridlington.
“This facility directly addresses historic parking challenges during busy seasons while creating a clean, modern gateway into the town.
“By making it seamless for residents to shop locally and for tourists to explore our brilliant town centre, this multi-million-pound investment will provide a long-term boost to the local economy.”
