And finally… reach for the lasers!
This March will see the Yorkshire Coast lit up by lasers once again, as the biggest “Light up the Coast” event yet hits home.
Spectators have been able to see multiple laser beam shows performed in a sequence and projected against some of the Yorkshire Coast’s most iconic and loved landmarks as part of ‘Light up the Coast,’ which was created as a way to demonstrate the beauty and scale of the region by illuminating incredible landmarks across the Yorkshire Coast.
All the lasers are linked via GPS allowing them to create a synchronised light pattern across Route YC – the route set up to promote tourism along the coast, funded by the Yorkshire Coast Business Improvement District.
Whitby Abbey, Scarborough Castle and Flamborough Lighthouse have all previously featured.
The key stats:
- 84 miles of coastline
- Six iconic locations
- Three hours of spectacular laser magic
- Beams stretching 20 miles into the night sky
The show will take place between Monday 26 February and Sunday 3 March, and it will be free to view from multiple locations throughout the Yorkshire Coast.
What’s more, you can immerse yourself in the experience fully by adding a new dimension to the show. Download the app and listen to the soundtrack orchestrated for the event. It’s hard to see how any more can be laid on here, frankly. Just look at that picture.
