LeoVegas bets on Leeds

The MGM-owned sports betting company has signed for 5,000 sq ft in Tailor’s Corner, at the junction of Wellington Street and Thirsk Row.

Carter Towler assisted LeoVegas with the move, and Knight Frank and Savills acted as joint agents.

Tailor’s Corner underwent a £5m refurbishment six years ago, and the betting company will occupy the ground and lower ground floors.

Fit-out is underway, and expected to complete this summer.

MGM Resorts, one of the world’s leading hospitality and entertainment companies, bought the Swedish mobile gaming and sports betting company in May 2022, and has since launched BetMGM brands in the UK, The Netherlands, and Sweden.

The company is now looking to expand and recruit in the West Yorkshire city, its second Northern office following its Newcastle office, which acts as its UK headquarters and has been occupied by the group since 2018.

Gethin Evans, managing director UK and Ireland at LeoVegas Group, commented: “As one of the UK’s fastest-growing cities, our new city-centre office puts us right in the mix, helping us build the strength of our hero brands in the UK, BetMGM and LeoVegas, while enjoying the benefits of access to a growing talent pool.”

Zoe Wood of Boultbee Brooks Real Estate, owners of the property, added: “As developers, we are passionate about revitalising buildings and giving them new purpose.

“Tailor’s Corner is a prime example of this, and it’s incredibly satisfying to see a forward-thinking company like LeoVegas Group establish its Leeds office here. In addition to its rich history, the building will now help create new job opportunities for the city.”
