Banks submits phase two plans for Hambleton
The housebuilder is hoping to add to its development near Selby in North Yorkshire with another 74 homes on land to the east of the site.
Each home – a mix of houses and bungalows – would be fitted with air source heat pumps and EV charging points, and a children’s play area is part of the landscaping plans.
Access to the site would be through phase one of the development in the village, with secondary access for emergency vehicles via the A63 to the north of the site.
If planning is approved, Banks Homes is hoping to begin construction work on phase two around the end of 2026.
Its’ current development in the village is called The Pastures, with preparatory work on the 62-house estate starting back in October.
The Pastures is Banks’ first residential development in Yorkshire.
Kate Culverhouse, community relations manager at the Banks Group, says: “Work is progressing well at The Pastures and we’re now looking to build on the long-term commitment that we’re making around delivering much-needed, high quality homes in North Yorkshire.
“Our phase two plans at Hambleton are a logical and sustainable extension to The Pastures and are being brought forward in line with changes to the National Planning Policy Framework, which reflect ambitious government targets to significantly boost the UK’s housing supply.
“The Pastures is a high-quality development which will give more local people and families a greater opportunity to stay in the village, and we’re confident that there will also be strong demand for the additional homes we’re now looking to see built at Hambleton East.”
