Yorkshire Housing submits affordable Bradford plans

The housing association has applied to build 147 homes on land next to the former Riverside Works on Keighley Road in Silsden, with Vistry lined up to deliver the project.

The project team consists of Johnson Mowat, Watson Batty Architects, Redmore Environmental, Envance, Andrew Moseley Associates, and Adept Consulting Engineers.

Currently the site is agricultural land, with hedgerows, trees, and the occasional stable scattered throughout.

It is immediately below the Leeds-Liverpool canal, which has been incorporated into the design – YH hopes to develop more of an active frontage onto the designated conservation area.

South of the site is another affordable development delivered by Vistry and Yorkshire Homes, on the former Riverside Works.

To the west is Green Belt fields, and the east is home to another residential development.

Designed with green space in mind, plans propose almost double the required amount of open space and walking routes have been incorporated to link Sykes Lane and the canal tow-path.

The suggested housing mix is for a range of two- to four-bed houses.
