Work begins on first phase of 600-home Eden Fields

Edenthorpe, on the outskirts of Doncaster, will be the site of a £137m Avant Homes development covering 81 acres.

The development’s first phase entails the construction of 248 homes, with 27 of them being designated as affordable housing.

This site will offer options from one-bedroom houses through to five-beds – it is anticipated that the first homes will go on the market by September this year with the aim to have permanent residents from spring 2025.

Prices will be released at a later date, but Avant Homes guarantees “practically designed, energy efficient homes,” featuring 12 of Avant Homes’ house types.

Additionally, the developers promise homes will have “French doors, exclusive kitchen designs, generous rooms and off-street parking.”

Avant Homes claims it will provide community support in the form of £3.8m in contributions to the local area, with a focus on education and green space.

The scheme includes a recreation area, children’s play park and football and basketball courts.

Managing director Richard Hosie said: “We are now well under way building a range of prospective buyers due to the area’s proximity to amenities, transport links and Doncaster city centre.”

He hopes that the development will satisfy the “high demand in Edenthorpe for new homes which appeal to a diverse range of prospective buyers.”
