Vistry gains Huddersfield approval
The housebuilder will build 469 homes on land near the hamlet of Blackmoorfoot, as part of a wider scheme with Miller Homes.
Vistry and Miller acquired the brownfield site in January 2025, with Miller intending to build a further 231 homes on the land.
Vistry has forward sold 154 of the homes to housing provider Vico Homes, in line with its partner-delivery model.
The remaining homes will be delivered as either private rent or open-market sale, under its Bovis Homes brand.
The site, 3.5km south west of Huddersfield centre, will feature green corridor, a central park, and a variety of outdoor play areas, with 25% of it dedicated to being green space.
A care home and convenience store will also be constructed on the site.
Andrew Poyner, managing director of Vistry West Yorkshire, said: “We look forward to work now getting underway and to creating this vibrant new community in Huddersfield.”
Joel Owen, Director for Development and Growth at Vico Homes, said: “It’s fantastic to work with Vistry again to deliver more affordable homes. This development adds to the 347 homes that we’ve worked with Vistry to deliver over the past six months and we look forward to growing our partnership in the future.
“We have a bold vision to deliver 10,000 new homes and partnerships like this are at the heart of this journey.”
