Stadium Group bags Rotherham consent
In a development called Parkgate Link, outline plans for more than 430,000 sq ft of industrial and logistics floorspace have been greenlit.
Brough-based Stadium Group is working with planner Tetra Tech and architect DLA on the project, which was submitted in May 2023, and approved conditionally last week.
Off Aldwarke Lane, and north-east of Stadium Way, the 24.2-acre site is currently vacant land, and was formerly used as a tip site for major industrial operations such as local gas and steelworks.
The application covers 152,146 sq ft of B8 storage/distribution space, and 282,557 sq ft of B2 general industrial space, adding up to slightly more than 434,000 sq ft.
Although the breakdown of space would be determined precisely at reserved matters stage, indicative images in the planning documents suggest five units.
The location is a well established industrial and logistics area, and is surrounded on all sides by such property. It sits close to Junction 33 of the M1, directly accessing the motorway via the A630.
A new link road has been approved from the Parkgate shopping park to Aldwarke Lane, which will offer access to the site.
The plans can be viewed on Rotherham’s planning portal with the reference RB2023/0777.
