Sheffield’s Old Town Hall goes up for auction
With a guide price o £500,000, the 30,000 sq ft building will be available to bidders from 25 November.
The grade two-listed building is located between Castle Green and Waingate, near the city centre.
Auctioned by Mark Jenkinson, the bidding will close on 26 November.
The building dates back to 1808 and has been vacant for around three decades, and was previously used as both the Town Hall and as law courts.
No planning permission is currently in place, although previously there had been plans to develop it into a Pod hotel, serviced apartments, and retail units.
It is owned by Gary Ata, who heads up Noble Design and Build, which owns several residential blocks in and around Sheffield city centre including St Mary’s House, London Court on Boston Street, the Lightbox on Earl Street, Printworks on Hodgson Street, and Kelham Works in Kelham Island.
