SGi opens Leeds office

Independent engineering consultancy SGi has set up a base at 7 Park Row, putting down roots on the back of a solid order book in Yorkshire.

SGi is currently on site with Rise Homes for a £25m residential development on Regent Street in Leeds. Other Yorkshire and North East clients include PLP, for a 312,000 sq ft logistics project in two units next to the M1 in Wakefield; and Tritax Symmetry with Symmetry Park in Doncaster, where SGi was civil and structural engineer on 700,000 sq ft of warehousing, now fully let.

Paul Quirk, structural director, will head the SGi Leeds office. He said: “This is a very exciting and important step for SGi as we grow as a business and try to strengthen existing relationships and build new ones. Leeds is a thriving city, and we are very excited by the challenge ahead”.

SGi was also recently instructed on a new care home in Idle, Bradford and is working on a significant strategic industrial site in Sheffield. The company was civil and structural design advisor on B&Q’s new 430,000 sq ft distribution facility on Symmetry Park, Doncaster.

SGi joins a growing list of property companies opening and expanding in Leeds to capitalise on the strong market in Yorkshire.
