Ros Jones re-elected as Mayor

With 23,805 votes, the Labour candidate will continue in her role for Doncaster, narrowly beating Reform option Alexander Jones who received 23,107.

The election took place yesterday, with Conservative Nick Fletcher coming in third place with 18, 982 votes.

Vote numbers then fell steeply, with the Green Party coming in fourth place with 2,449.

Turnout was 32.27%, slightly higher than in previous elections in the city.

Jones was first elected in 2013 and has since been won each subsequent election in 2017, 2021, and now 2025.

She will serve another four year term, which will include overseeing investment in the soon to reopen Doncaster Airport.

Speaking after her win, Jones said Doncaster had “bucked the national trend, beaten the polls and returned a Labour mayor…

“What I’m saying to Keir is this: he needs to listen and take action.

“We’ve got drive places like Doncaster forward. Keir’s got to drive the country forward and actually deliver economic growth so all can prosper.”
